Some people on /his/ say countries like Brazil are fucked up because of multicultiralism. But do they realize Brazil was ruled by two European kings and then by the rich white elite for years and years. And since the beginning there was corruption from the white landowners. Brazil was one of the last ones to abolish slavery. So how do you explain that?
>>
Multicultural societies are inherently vulnerable to authoritarianism, because humans are inherently tribal creatures and prone to sacrifice their civil liberties to deny perceived threats the same liberties.
>>

But weren't the old ass civilizations heavily multicultural?
>>
Brazil isn't any more multicultural than America. It is however, much more multiracial.
>>
>>2564090
The US is more multicultural than Brasil
>>
>>2564090
It has nothing to do with multiculturalism, it has to do with FUCKING NIGGERS.

If Brazil was infested with Cambodians it would be much better.

The main problem with this country is less "muh racemixing" as some dumb /pol/acks may claim and more about the fact that ever since the empire was taken down by a coalition of Oligarchs and coffee barons, our government basically became a kleptoparasitical entity that benefits only the political class rather than the people. Plus we are still pretty new at being an actual democracy, our very first actual direct elections being on the late eighties.

IMO The Republic was a mistake, it's not like we were an authoritarian regime in monarchical times (we were a constitutional monarchy) and the main reason the emperor was deposed was because he was against slavery and together with his daughter helped to abolish it (A dangerous move, in a time when all of our economy was based on slave labor fueled agriculture).

All Europeans countries were ruled by European kings and rich white elites. What's the difference between them and Brazil? I'll give you 2 minutes to think... Ready? Yeah.
>>
>>2564182
I'm saying is Brazil before D. Joao arrive was just a colony to extract resources. Think only started after D. Joao VI arrive in 1808 I think after him his son and his grandson ruled and the republic was instaled the rich white landowners who ruled there was dictatorships the modern democracy started in the 88 when the army gave the power to the people. The elite is all white...

Those that could conquer other people and subject them, yes.

Otherwise, tribal loyalties replaced racial ones.
>>
>>2564211
Wrong. I'll give you another hint. What does Brazil have (a lot) in common with Subsaharan African nations, and ex-colonies like Jamaica and Haiti, but NOT with other ex-colonies like Australia and New Zealand?
>>
>>2564090
>brazil
>multiculturalism
Ayyy.
>>
>>2564180
The only bad parts of Brazil are the ones with blacks in them though. Heck multiculturalism in Europe would be much better if they accepted east asians over african savages and crazy muslims.
>>
>>2564090
Those people are pining for the days when Brazil was a friendlier place to the Confederate flag and the swastika.

Globalism is shitty but Brazil has always been multicultural.
>>
>brazil
>white elite

Read Gilberto Freyre, the Brazilian elite was heavily mixed since forever.
>>
>>2564090
>Brazil are fucked up
It's a developing country; it's not that bad.

>because of multicultiralism
every country goes through periods of being fucked, even the monocultural ones
there are monocultural countries that are fucked today.
>>
Brasil's biggest problem is its geography.
