Why is the Chinese-Japanese aspect of WW2 so overlooked in media?
It was the second bloodiest theater, but some people I've spoken with didn't even know China was in ww2. What gives? And why is there such little data about it in comparison to other theaters?
Cuz China got eternally BTFO so nothing interesting really happened
Because America didn't very much there, and it lacked the exciting battles of the Eastern Front.

The Rape of Nanking is common knowledge. It even has a catchy name.

this
Would you rather watch a nail biting game that goes down to the last second? Or a blowout?
Chances are if it's 2 teams you don't give a shit about, you would prefer a nail biter.
Japan ripped their ass. The foreign powers should have let them keep going too.
They aren't human and so not relevant.
Very little relevance in world history. China literally put insectoid waves forward waiting for the USA to nuke japan.

because its rather boring
only chingchongs care about peasants gettings fucked up by japs

>China isn't exactly a friend of the USA so the Us doesn't bother lionising the Chinese theatre
>KMT did most of the fighting so the CCP doesn't bother lionising the Chinese theatre
Unfortunate really
Nothing in China gets much coverage.
They had the fucking biggest natural disaster in human history in 1930. Like 1.2 million people died in a flood. How much is this talked about? Even the wiki on it is just 2 or so paragraphs.

Why? Two reasons:
1) PRC/RoC continuity issues
2) Cool Japan
>>2559984
Same reason Americans think they defeated Germany singlehandedly and even more hilariously, UKcucks thinking this. It was the first truly global war that made a different impression around the globe on the nations involved.

Because it was the secondary theater OF a secondary theater.
There are plenty of interesting battles like Shanghai, Wuhan, and the gorillion Changsha battles.
The China theater is just a bit boring because the KMT was so shit. The Nationalists should've just let the commies fight, commies probably would've won the war alone.
The US became buttbuddies with Japan and the world basically gets all it's pop culture from US media.
Chinese theater was to Japanese basically what Eastern front was to Germans. They got stuck in a huge landmass with no way out.
It was one big shitshow with massive movements of various armies, the nationalists, the commies, the japs, bunch of other warlord cliques, it was crazy.

Also the Empire of China

By media you mean Western media.
In Russia and China they make tons of movies about their fronts in the war.
Thing is, even the Germans make movies about the Eastern front while glossing over the west front (they lost 75% of their men to the Soviets).

Those movies made in China aren't even trying to be historically accurate. Nor do they obey the laws of physics for that matter.
