Second one needs more extrapolation since you're, once again, a brainlet and don't know the proper scientific description or words.

In the case of second scenario, the world as we know it is simply illusionary. The advent of subatomic model of the world already shows us that. The quantum mechanics dove into this even more. The current starting area of physics even states there are no particles at all. So matter/physical stuff are all outdated models of reality. The whole universe is simply a small subset of a wave like "existence" that got blown to epic proportion. To visualize, think of boiling water and the bubbles forming on water surface. Those bubbles are the universe in essence, except things like mass/particles do not apply.

Just because matter and energy turned out to be the same thing and we are living out some kind of wave/field synthesized existence, doesn't mean it's a "simulation", as that terms seems to imply an artificiality to the nature of the system. If the wave field that generates impressions of matter and energy that are in fact just expressions of that wave system, it is not a simulation of something real, it is real. That reality is reality. We were just looking at everything in a binary caveman like way. We saw and apple on a tree, and had a dream about an apple. One seemed "real" the other was a "simulation" of the mind, a dream. Turns out both apples are real and exist. Both require energy and matter (sunlight, tree: Neuron energy, brain matter) and all that stiff is really the same. You cannot say the apple in the dream did not exist, any more than you can say the dream or your brain did not exist.

No this is not a simulation. This is reality. Nothing is more or less fake or simulated. Our old understanding was not less simulated in nature. We just understand it better. Seeing everything as atoms was comforting, just because it isn't that simple doesn't make it a simulation of atoms. The atoms are an expression. You can still enjoy the apple, eat the apple, dream of the apple, paint a picture of the apple. Someday you may even create an apple of matter as easily as creating the image of one, or thinking about one.
