If current civilizations face a collapse of sorts, are famines going to happen or is the food stock/productivity high enough to sustain hunger?

>a sort of collaps
Depends on the collapse.
>nuclear war
Famine
>large scale pandemic
Maybe.
>conventional War
Loosing side probably yes, winning side probably no
>political
Maybe. Depends on several factors.
Probably. Food production would remain stable in most cases, but if logistics are messed up then distribution becomes the issue. Major cities far from rural areas will starve, riot, loot, etc. but if you live near a rural area and logistics arent messed up youll just see price changes.

I'd say that any countries that export more food than their own agricultural sector produces would be shit out of luck, while the exporters would be slightly less fucked.
when the world becomes half black in 2100 we'll see the biggest faminie in history

There are going to be plenty of famines, but mostly in places that have populations far above their autonomous carrying capacity. If global infrastructure breaks down because of a solar flare or something and all of a sudden ships and planes are no longer as useful as they once were (DUDE SATELLITES AND RADIOS LMAO) then places like India and Africa and China would be turbofucked but the US and Canada would probably be okay. Yurop is a big "maybe", because their soil is exceptionally productive and eastern yurop is tied at the hip with western yurop via trains and trucks and eastern yurop alone (inc. Russia) could probably grow enough grain to feed all of them.
There's plenty of people around to pick up the slack. thats when we'll really find out who lives & eats well.
