ITT: "villains" that did nothing wrong
Carlos Castaño, leader of Colombian far right paramilitary. Fought to defend innocent farmers/villagers from Marxist murderers and kidnappers. Was opposed to funding the paramilitary through drug trade, unlike his brothers. Was eventually killed at the behest of his brother.

he was an oligarchical psychopath who used fear to get his way, no better then farc. Non of columbian death squads where good in a anyway. Go suck a dick faggot

>columbian
And he only killed marxists/marxist sympathizers, which is a credit to the world
>>2539497
in the end they were the same. Take it from a Colombian, pal, there were no marxists after the Bogotazo, only thieves, drug dealers, and murderers.
>>2539497
That's not how it worked pal, they could have killed commies alright but they almos murdered a lot of farmers and citizens then later label them as commies just to excuse their actions and gain more bonus.
I assure you there is no such thing as a good guy in this conflict of ours

Did the AUC under Carlos not protect farmers from the brutality? This article makes it seem like he did and that he detested narcotrafficking as funding for the AUC

He can detest what he wants, but the only time us Colombians have ever been the good guys was in Korea. These Autodefensas are just as bloodthirsty as the Marxists, with just as much drug money to boot.

Paramilitars were no different to the red guerrillas in the jungles, when they saw how easy it was to get money with guns, they didn't think twice to take the same route
Let me remind you that these "freedom fighters" are still around to this day, even after the goverment gave them pardon

Good intentions don't mean shit retard.
i'm sure the FARC and the ELN had good intentions but that doesn't change who their where. Stop sucking the dicks of monsters just because they happen to dislike communists.
>>2539602
The vast majority of them were drug dealers/addicts/thieves with no leader or actual intention
>>2539588
Even the best intentions can lead to the worst disasters anon, sure he wanted to aid the people but at the end the AUC only made things worst, considerably worse.
FARC, ELN, M19 and many others also had good intentiosn at the beginning, if you were to look up how this whole disaster started you would understand the strong oppositon to the goverment decades ago, but at the end, all these good will groups led to nothing but coprses, corruption and a 50 years long war.
Mind you, I assure you that communism is seen pretty badly here, and any sign of it triggers people here, having Venezuela to the sides helps this too since every time socialism coems up they point at Venezuela (even though it's not really socialism) and shake their heads.

Thanks for helping me understand, I guess I should do some more reading. He has a tragic story, his father getting killed in front of him when he was young, and starting the paramilitary/conflict as vengeance, it's interesting stuff.
>>2539635
A common story here, and one that just kept fueling the war more and more
Kids blaming the army and joining FARC and kids blaming FARC and joining the UAC or just blaming both and joining the army
And yeah, it's interesting, pity it's not thing of fiction
>>2539218
>Fought to defend innocent farmers/villagers from Marxist murderers and kidnappers
By murdering and kidnapping them
>>2539639
Yeah agreed. How safe is it in the jungles today?
>>2539659
Not easy to say, a lot of groups have moved where FARC was and ELN, even with talk of peace talks, remains atctive, adding to this the bacrims are still a thing
It's not as bad as before but to say you can go anywhere at anyitme would be an outright lie
I think there is a chart somewhere that mentions the no go zones, no idea where to get an updated one tho.
