>dude life would be better if we got rid of ideas like family, friends, law, disease, etiquette because they don't physically exist so they can't be useful
What do people see in this guy? If we was in charge the world would fall apart in a day.
His philosophy is basically what every 14 year old teenage male develops completely independently on their own but abandons before their 18th birthday.
Read Stirner's Critics. It should clear up a lot of your misunderstandings.

Those 14 year olds only come up with it because of ideas in the mainstream put there by Nietzsche and grow out of it because the misunderstood what he was trying to say.

His philosophy is basically what every rich and powerful person does to stay rich and powerful

Its funny because that's actually what he teaches, to abandon society and develop independently

Stirner never advocated ethical egoism, he didn't urge, encourage, nor strive for others to rid themselves of their spooks. He simply claimed that, serving a higher purpose is still serving your own self-interest, and serving your own self-interest is much more doable when you cut out the middle man.
He thought it to be the /rational/ thing to do, to not allow made up concepts to prevent you from following what's in your best interest; not the /right/ thing to do. Why would an egoist care about what other people do?
You can be spooked all you want.

how is it the most rational? the ego is not the basis for all logic. stirner's arguments in this regard are weak. self-interest is worshiped as a deity into itself... by cutting out the middle man all you've done is elevated fleeting interest to the level of god
