At what period would you say we had surpassed Greco-Roman architecture? I would say only in the 12th century. Earlier churches and stuff looked kinda shitty in comparison.

Even Carolingian (so basically Byzantine) architecture was already superior to Greco-Roman.

By the 12th century we had created the Gothic style, which is pretty much the high point of all architecture ever.

The rounded style of Milanese armour was an earlier style of armour than Gothic, which came up later. At the time the Milanese armour was predominant in Italy, Kastenbrust style armour was predominant in Germany. Gothic armour became to some extent popular in Italy as well and you can find Gothic influences in Italian suits from the late 15th century, or even suits made completely in Gothic style.

Armour usually mimicked the clothes of the time, and as fashion changed so did the looks of armour.

Gothic armor was clearly inferior as the only thing which was used in the design of the evolution of both styles was it's fluting.

There was no such thing as "evolution of both styles". The Italian armour styles had been around since the early 15th century - way before Gothic armour. Maximilian armour came roughly a hundred years later: consider these time spans. It's not like Italian styles and Gothic armour had developed in parallel and then they decided to make a mixture of both. They were already well established and common - also known to Germans - given that some of the finest remaining Milanese suits stem from the Churburg Collection of the Lords of Matsch. Had they worked much better than Gothic armour, Gothic armour wouldn't have been established in the first place because everyone would have realised that things don't work out like this because they had Italian suits and Kastenbrust suits for comparison. Also, I'd argue that the surfaces of Maximilian armour aren't nearly as wide and flowing. They're more rounded in comparison with Gothic armour but they're rounded in a sense of following the shape of the human body. The shape is a much tighter fit - not as tight as Gothic, but most definitely not like the Milanese shape of the first half of the 15th century either.

How? We were only ruled by the Ostrogoths for a brief period. Venice was built to resist barbarian invasions. Both the Lombards and Franks failed to conquer the area around Venice. Venetian Republic lasted from 697 AD to 1797 AD until Napoopan sold us out to the A*strians.

We are bure Italic. Fuck off.

They were cheaper than Italian armors and thus had a competitive advantage to establish themselves.

Do you have reliable sources on armour prices? I very much doubt it.

Not to mention that from a position of reasonable intellect alone Gothic armour shouldn't be cheaper as putting the armour in shapes like that takes more time and that time usually has to be paid - not to mention the expertise.

And as I said: you can find Italian suits from the same period which were made in Gothic style. It was simply a popular kind of fashion of armour in the late 15th century.
