Why was it such an optimistic and happy time?

It seems like people were so much more natural compared to now.

Everyone in that video is on fucking coke, that's why

I'd say it was a good era for the USA, easing of the Cold War, cocaine, cool cars and music, etc

The 80's was the golden age of movies

Most movies suck.
They're the intellectual equivalent of McDonalds. All special effects and action, no story or plot.
Most Hollywood (American movies) are generic, bland and repetive.
seriously last 15 years were mostly shit in terms of quality cinema.

Most new movies are just trash. I hate the whole dynamic of them and how the sound is mixed. It unsettles my nerves the way they are made to be extremely loud at certain moments purely for shock value. It's like they are engineered just so they can hold people's attention in the ADD era.

Btw Hollywood directors and producers are not even trying hard to make a movie, everything is hashed together from past movie scenes and climactic parts on top with the worst actors in the world.

Hollywood fucking sucks.

Hollywood turned off their primary demographic, white families.

Cartoons and baseball were on regular network TV pretty often after school and in the summer. We watched those a lot at my after-school wait-to-get-picked-up-by-parents program. They also had some good educational programs on PBS (Square One was a good maths-centric program we all loved. 3-2-1 Contact was good too). Shit we watched a lot of TV back then, especially compared to how little I let my daughter watch her cartoons on Nick Jr. nowadays.

But then the 8-bit vidya era was born and holy shit we went full retard on that. Had an NES Deluxe Set (yeah with ROB the robot) and played the shit out of that. Most of my other friends only had the Action set (with Zapper and dual SMB/duck hunt cartridge). Some of my friends had that Sega shit. We'd geek out about the vidya and read Nintendo Power until those magazines were shredded.

Globalisation and the rise of mobile/Internet technologies did ao much more harm to our societies than most people would care to admit. This all shifted into 'overdrive' in the latter half of the 90s.

The 90s were the zenith of the boomer civilization, essentially all the bad things had yet to kick in but all the good stuff was there. The fall of the Soviet Union only made it even better. The mid-late 90s (Around 1996 I'd say) was the peak if it were a graph. We've been in steady decline ever since
>>
>>2522172

Things started to go downhill in about 1996.
>>
>>2522176
People tend to overrate then 90s as a whole. 90-95 were fantastic years, but the decade began to decline in about 96. The late 90s weren't that good at all tbph.

'96 was definitely when everything went wrong.
