If 'white' is an American meme and Americans never made a big distinction between 'white' people, then why have literally all US presidents been of completely "Germanic" (English, Scottish, Welsh, Dutch, German) or otherwise of the British Isles (Irish) descent except for one?
Why have didn't the US ever have a president of Italian, Polish, Jewish, Spanish, or Greek descent before they finally had one of sub-saharan African descent?

The existing elite class has always been Anglo with a smattering of NW Europeans. The ethnic groups you mentioned came to the United States long after the ruling class became more or less entrenched. Your list of presidents' ethnicities reflects the maintenance of old power structures, more than anything else.
