Middle school: Christianity was evil. The dark ages were because of the church and no science even happened XD

High school: The church was ACTUALLY great, they were the heirs of the roman empire and kept sacred a lot of greek knowledge. If you disagree you're just an edgy atheist

College: Although the Church did preserve much ancient knowledge, and subsequent gains made in thought came 'out' of the church's past thought, there is absolutely no denying the degrees to which the roman Catholic church suppressed knowledge that was outside of themselves. If edge lords and dissenters like John the Scot didn't do anything, we might still be living in theocracy
