How did Germany basicly just repeat the Schlieffen Plan in ww2 but this time it ass raped the french?
>>
>>2459869
The French could not believe anyone would use such a retarded plan twice so they didn't bother preparing for it.
>>
>>2459869
the father from the original universe casted a spell that forced France to fall
>>
>>2459869
Because the germans moved their tanks through the ardennes and the allies were not expecting it.
>>
>>2459869
The French didn't expect the Germans to do something that failed the first time once again
>>
>>2459869
They didn't follow the schliffen plan, they shifted the main point of attack south to the Ardennes, instead of going through the Belgian plains as their principal offensive route. Then they cut north and trapped the Allied armies against the sea instead of heading to Paris.

Smart anon and I love him.

Of all the German generals, all but von Manstein were begging with Hitler for the Schlieffen plan to be mimicked, for them to be spared the Maginot lines against which they'd be devastated, and so, each of them were pleading for the German forces to sweep in through Belgium.
Nevertheless, von Manstein was awarded a word with Hitler for his services in Poland, and brought forward his plan by which they would pretend to recreate their advance into Belgium, which secretely sneaking the bulk of their armored forces through the Ardennes forest, capture Sedan, and rally the coast from there. The French, expecting for the Schlieffen plan to come again (which it would have had the plans for Fall Blau not been captured by the Belgians), sent their forces into Belgium to protect their ally when Germany declared war on Belgium, and consequently, their elite forces were trapped in Belgium when Rommel and Guderian touched the sea.

Which is why the
>hurr durr surrendering french
meme is idiotic, since the Germans were fighting only reserve troops when sweeping through France.

May I /thread myself now?

It wasn't the exact same, but it was similar enough in concept. One of the failures of the schlieffen plan as applied in ww1 was that it was simply impossible to move the required men and materiel far enough fast enough to bring the plan fully to fruition. With advances in mechanized and aerial warfare, allowing for much quicker advances and recon, and tighter command and control, allowing for better coordination and adaptation (iirc some German general in wwi got buck fever and started chasing a French army, and ended up opening his flank, throwing off the whole advance prior to the battle of the marne), it worked the second time like it was supposed to work the first.

We believed that the Dutch and Belgian would not fall so easily.

>mfw Dutchies surrendered so easily that the French Seventh army litterally got slaugthered upon arriving
Never trust the swamp Jew.

Friendly remainder that Germany sperging out could've been averted had the Belgium and the Netherlands discarded their neutrality, and allowed the French to defend their lands. But instead, the French were only allowed in when the Belgians and Dutch were attacked, and the French were never able to consolidate defensive lines in time to protect them, and then the Germans were able to sneak in through the Ardennes.
