What world are you living in? Prostitutes dont hold you down and rape you, then steal your wallet. If people didn't want prostitutes to exist they would simply ignore them and market forces would pressure them into different work. People like prostitutes as much as they like sluts and porn, which is a lot. But its publicly embaressing/reprehensible/immoral to admit it.

Why did he get attention?
1. Murder is worse than the voluntary/socially forced commerce of sex
2. People were worried their favorite hoe was gonna get cut
3. He wasn't caught. This provokes interest because that means it could be someone you know and that not all crime gets punished.
