I guess first try to bomb the house of representatives during a full sitting. Though youd also need to go kill the president. Only thing remaining is the army which is the annoying dilemma, you need their support and having their support is next to impossible unless they are all corrupt.

I can't even imagine how one would go about overthrowing the US government. There's too many key players to completely disable the functioning of state. You'd have to take out the president, vice president, his entire cabinet, most senior pentagon officials, and a good portion of the House and Senate for good measure. Do that and maybe you cripple the federal government. Except each state has its own legislature and executive and they are fully capable of organizing with one another if need be.

Explaining all this is making me realize what a nightmare it would be for anyone to invade the US.
