Did Jesus of Nazareth actually exist? Was he at least a living, breathing person like Muhammad or Siddhartha?
>>
Probably.

Nein!

is that Sim City guy?
>>
The general consensus among secular scholars is yes. Obviously the Jewish, Muslim and Christian religions as well as several more obscure or estoteric faiths believe he existed so anyone faithful in those would subscribe to the belief he existed.

>Did Jesus of Nazareth actually exist?

YES —WHY WOULD HE NOT HAVE EXISTED?

>Was he at least a living, breathing person like Muhammad or Siddhartha?

YES.

I feel as though there can't be a God if you are still posting on this board
>>
As I understand it scholars generally believed that the man existed but the majority of the events that are said to have happaned in the scripture are up for debate.

"The sun, too, shines into cesspools and is not polluted." - Diogenes

There is no evidence whatsoever of his existence.

Retard, or irrational denialist?

What did he mean by this? Was he a trinitarian?
>>
>>2420043
Well there's several sources such as Josephus and Tacitus but these can be disputed as edited by Christian scribes

Yes, almost certainly. The other explanations as to how Christianity and early Christian writings came about are either extremely over-complicated and/or make no sense.

"The public does not realize that in all the conflicts within nations and in the conflicts between nations there are, besides the people apparently responsible for them, hidden agitators who with their selfish plans make these conflicts unavoidable. . . . Everything that happens in the confused evolution of peoples is secretly prepared in order to ensure the dominion of certain people: it is these people, known and unknown, that we must find behind every public event." - Benjamin Disraeli

The causes of these conflicts are far more complicated than you make it appear.

AND they still call themselves 'religions of peace'. Cant even keep satan away from their comunities.
>>
>>2420116
yes, let's accept all ancient documents at face value because there is a possibly a chance of any of them being edited. There are, however, ways to see if certain documents go above this vague possibility. for example Josephus's passage on Jesus makes it sound like he's a christian
>>
>>2420168
Since when was Judaism a religion of peace? A religion of victimhood and persecution maybe.

>The other explanations as to how Christianity and early Christian writings came about are either extremely over-complicated and/or make no sense.

Saint Paul made it up. Doesn't sound too complicated to me, it's not like we don't have other examples of people making up religions.
>>
>>2420204
Considering the line between Christian and Jew was very vague during Josephus life he very well might have been sympathetic to the cause.

He probably heard some things or saw some things and thought "hey, this Jesus is pretty special. Something pretty amazing (or at least people say something pretty amazing) happened around him.'

Also remember the Jews never denied Jesus existed. They only made him out to be a sorcerer. Wouldn't it make sense for them, if Jesus wasn't real, to deny him altogehter?

>Saint Paul made it up.
How do you know Saint Paul isn't fake, and Jesus made HIM up?
>>

>Did Jesus of Nazareth actually exist?
yes

>Was he a magical wizard?
no

Yes.
