I think your claims are mostly inaccurate when it comes to the board as a whole, but this one line hits the nail on the head with me. I'd like to think I'm a relatively smart person, plenty of times I feel like I know more about history then the teachers I'm student teaching with, but at the same time the more I learn and the more I see just how much there *is* to learn on any number of subjects, the less confident I feel talking about that subject. I'm constantly worried that I have an inflated sense of my own intelligence.
