Yet they existed for thousands of years with hundreds of different cultures living side by side. Romans kept going as Byzantines for almost a thousand more years. And the Ottoman Empire didn't kill all their minorities obviously. Those are perfect examples of multiculturalism working, history revisioner.
I can name more multi-ethnic Empire running along fine for thousands of years. Sasanian Empire, Seleucid Empire, Parthian Empire, Rashidun and Umayyad Caliphates, Egypt, China in its many guises, Timurids and Mughals, Khmer Empire, not to mention every single European power with overseas colonies.

I legitimately hate people who push the meme that MULTICULTURALISM PER SE is the problem, regardless of the quality of the cultures in question. Italians and Germans living in one place doesn't cause problems, but Italians and the Senegalese certainly will. What? No they didn't. The Levant, North Africa, and Iraq are still Arab. Greece is still Greek and the rest of the Balkans are still Slavic. About the only people that were totally assimilated were the native Anatolians, and most of the heavy lifting on that front was already done by the Seljuq successor states.

I don't know what brown people self segregating themselves into ghettos to scam welfare, sell drugs, and plot terrorist attacks should be called, but it definitely shouldn't be called multiculturalism.
