UK lacks enough meaningful consumption or production to actually matter on the World stage. Their strongest assets are all in Trade compared to several of their other peers, which looks great in aggregate indexes like GDP but has little real strategic usefulness.

The UK/US bilateral trade agreement could send Britain's economy skyrocketing, but I don't think it has a chance of succeeding without Nigel Farage leading the delegation. The Trump Administration likes to keep dealings close with people they trust.
