Isn't Western culture today at its very peak? It looks as it's on the very verge of becoming an universal standard.

Depends what you mean by it's peak I guess; you need to define the criteria.
It peaked around early 2000s. Currently its plateaued and although real influence might be increasing a bit, the relative influence has been decreasing. The Asian Century, aka 21st century, will ring the deathknell of western cultural dominance.

>Western
>culture
I know what you mean but I dislike this term.
The answer is yes, Western culture is still the symbol of power it has been for a while.

>implying Chinese won't steal Western culture like everything else once they rule the world
Prepare for Chinese as lingua franca and shitty Chinese derivations of McDonalds and KFC.

>implying China comes even close to the cultural capita of the west
Nobody in the west sans chinese minorities knows chinese actors, chinese musicians or chinese directors

Jackie Chan

Yeah, Chan and Lucy Liu. But anyone can mention more Norwegian actors than Chinese actors.
Besides, look how Chan and Liu use Western names in their professional work.

America was stealing European inventions before it became a dominant place for science.
Europe was stealing arabic/indian/chinese inventions before it became a dominant place for science.
China will steal until it reaches parity, and then further their own research for their own cause.
