>A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

>In both Matthew and Luke, a master puts his servants in charge of his goods while he is away on a trip. Upon his return, the master assesses the stewardship of his servants. He evaluates them according to how faithful each was in making wise investments of his goods to obtain a profit. It is clear that the master sought some profit from the servants’ oversight. A gain indicated faithfulness on the part of the servants. The master rewards his servants according to how each has handled his stewardship. He judges two servants as having been “faithful” and gives them a positive reward. To the single unfaithful servant who “played it safe,” a negative compensation is given.

I think most of us here can actually do nearly all of those things, if not very competently. Hell, a lot of those tasks they teach in public schools.
I think I've done nearly all those things - save the hog - butched rabbit and fish at least, driven a boat, if not a ship, designed shelters if not buildings, written shit sonnets in school, balance accounts every week, virtually planned invasions at least, I've set a bone and relocated shoulders, all that other shit... Though I'm not sure what exactly "pitching manure" involves - but it looks wingable.

Are you going to properly attribute that quote to Robert Heinlein?

If I spent all my time learning about programming computers, planning invasions, and pitching manure, I wouldn't have enough time to jack off to 2d images of cartoon women.
