I always thought eurocentric meant viewing other places through the same lens one views European history.
However some people seem to think it means just a focus on Europe compared to other places.
Which is it? I have a problem with the first but less of a problem with the second, so I just want to get my terms straight.

Its the latter. It means viewing Europe as more important than other places.

it's both
the latter leads to the former

It's looking at things from a European viewpoint. It's absolutely sensical for a European. I don't care how the non-Whites want to go about history.

I never really understood the euro-centric meme. There isn't a corner of the globe that hasn't been influenced by Europeans. As such, European history is world history.
Now, that doesn't mean European history is better than others. I personally enjoy studying Asian history. But European history is absolutely more important in the understanding of the modern world, where African history isn't.
