Let's play a little game /his/.
Think of a civilization or group of civilizations that share(d) a similar culture. Got one? Good.
What would they have accomplished if the creatures and/or figures in their mythos and folklore were real?
Try to ignore gods or brutally overpowered creatures for the sake of balance.
Few examples:
>Fearsome critters in NA boost tourism drastically and garner scientific funding from around the world
>Wizards (both African and European) duked it out at the Battle of Tours, causing less causalities on both sides with the magic wielders acting as the main firepower on both sides
>Crete is able to breed and domesticate minotaurs to use as a labor force

The Gauls actually used magic incantations against the Romans. They still lost
>>2257437
But wouldn't the Gaul's "magic" protection have been better than their actual armor (which was practically none), at the very least stalling the campaigns for longer?
>>2257441
Certain historical records argue this, yes.

Can you redpill me a bit on the armor they wore? I've had people say they wore fairly standard leather armor with some metal plates, and some say they wore nothing more than metal neck braces.

OK
>Western Civilization
>Christianity
Oh wow look at that

I said ignore gods mate.
