So in the UK we idolise this whole 'Blitz' thing where the Germans were bombing our cities during WW2 yet we kept our resolve. But I heard recently that British and American bombing of Germany during WW2 led to ten times the amount of human casualties as from bombing of the UK. Is this true?

Depends on what exactly you consider to be within "the blitz", but yes, strategic bombing over Germany killed about half a million people.
