What would have happened to japan if it didn't have any storms while the mongols were invading?
the first invasion they would have been absolutely rekd and probably would have become a Yuan tributary until the Mongols were kicked out of China like what happened to Vietnam and several other south east asian kingdoms the mongols invaded
however if the first invasion was botched due to storms but the second invasion wasn't, the japs stood a good chance of fighting it off, they had spent years preparing for it and had systematically fortified the coast.

Maybe a stronger united Japan, and the sengoku war could've been avoided

If yuan navy didn't suffer a huge defeat, they'd easily take Vietnam. They could potentially take all of south east asia and have good ship building expertise by then. In which case, exploration into India/back to Mid east/etc would be possible. Even America would be possible.
>Yuan dynasty claims America
>They clash with Europeans
>Yuan dynasty rules western half of Americas

Nothing, because the Mongols were already retreating both times when the typhoons hit.
>>2231208
that's a pretty big if considering just how easily the viets dispatched them

They easily took over what was Vietnam early on.
The later issue with Vietnam was because their ships had been sunk in the Japanese invasion, so they had no effective navy or very poorly ones.
Should the Yuan return with the conquest of Japan, they would have even better understanding of Naval system with full stock of naval ships.
The first invasion of Japan took about 800 ships. The second invasion of Japan took roughly 4500 ships.
This was a huge blow to mongol navy.
If their ships weren't fucked, Vietnam would never stand a chance.

Assuming there is a political will to extend the reaches of the empire to the Americas at all. The Chinese historically were content to simply have states further away pay tribute instead of being ruled directly by imperial authority.

They were content because dynasties become stable once they reach their limits and then fall into decay.
Yuan with victory over japan/vietnam would push them into glory. Yuan losses = less prosperity, chilly government officials, etc

It would have been unified much earlier, which would mean it turns to foreign adventures much earlier. They couldn't have beaten Korea or China before modern firearms, but perhaps they would have settled along the transamur and Kamchatka, or perhaps they'd subdue the Phillipines, Hell, maybe they'd find Alaska. They'd still get BTFO by the Europeans, tho.
