Why do people question the way Jesus is portrayed in European art? Pic related: It's Syrians from Syria. You can't possible tell me light skinned Semites from the Levant don't look like Jesus is portrayed in art.

Jesus always portrayed through the lens of the people who made the portrayal. It's a Christian tradition and people who make fun of it being disrespectful.

In Ethiopian art, Jesus looks like an Ethiopian. In Korean art, Jesus looks like a Korean. That's fine. There's no problem with it. It's just tradition.

I don't see how these claims Jesus wasn't White looking will stick with the internet. The people who made art about Jesus were exposed to actual Levantine people via trade and travel.
