Can we talk about historical organized religion's views on the afterlife?
I was just thinking, the Catholics (only afterlife idea I'm really familiar with) think that hell is a physical plane, with similar/the same physics as we do right? So things are made of atoms? So eventually, due to nuclear decay, hell would cease to exist.
Furthermore, the assumption is there is gravity. Does that mean hell would be on a planet? How do would the temperature remain stable and not get bombarded with radiation? There would be a breathable atmosphere?
I'm sorry if this is the wrong board, I wasn't sure to post here or on /x/

Its only spiritual , but that's hard to picture. So we tend to default to thinking of it as physical. More a bad habit than an actual belief.

Can you elaborate a little on what it means to be in a spiritual existence?
Is that the same as metaphysical? So like instead of experiencing hell/heaven through your body for eternity it's completely separate?
Sorry for all the questions, I was raised Catholic and I was never told any of this
I died a couple months ago for 6-8 minutes and didn't experience any afterlife as far as I can remember. It was basically a timeskip until resuscitation
