If China had been divided into feuding warlord domains (as had happened many times in their history) instead of unified under the Qing at the time when the industrialized European powers were best positioned to economically exploit them through military force, might we now have several separate sovereign Chinese states like how there are separate European countries, instead of a single Republic controlling almost all the territory claimed by the Qing Dynasty?

KMT might have just annexed it all anyway.

I'll never understand how Korea got away without being CHINKED. Is this the power of mountains?

Buffer for Japan

Mountains, a big river, and amicable relations for most of their history iirc.

China was divided before and during European colonial expansion and unified under Communists.

It was unified under the Kuomintang.

Nope. Tianxia (All Under Heaven) and Unification is a titanic lion's share of Chinese national identity. They'd maul each other until one emerges as King of the Hill.

No.
Actually a divided China was a nightmare for Britain/France/USA but a dream for Russia, Imperial Germany & Japan. When Westerners made cartoons like this, they weren't relishing China being divided: they were dreading it and the wars it might trigger between Eurofags.

During the mid-late 1800s, most of the Western European and American Imperialist ambitions in China were capitalistic: basically get China to sign trade treaties favorable to them and sell them a lot of shit. If you fuckin noticed, all the Western Eurocunts just stayed in their concession cities while their businessmen went deep into the country for contracts n shiet. For them, China under a unified but weak and manipulable government is best China. This is why these people also helped China during the Taiping rebellion, its officers- who earlier fought the Empire- becoming its advisors in the 1860s-1880s. Japanese and Chinese admirals were even classmates in British naval academies.

The exception to these was Russia, Germany and Japan. Russia wanted Chinkdom's share of central asia and Manchuria. Even invented Turanism to do this and fomented rebellion amongst the Uighurs, which the Qingz n shiet managed to put down (horribly). The latter two were latecomers to the Imperialism game, and the two saw China as their future India and quite wished that the Qing just keeled over and fucking died. However, Germany was actually divided in its goals in China since the spastic nationalists wanted to colonize the place while the capitalists just wanted to sell them stuff, in addition to the military weirdly training some of the Chinese officer corps.

When the Qing finally collapsed in 1911 though, Eurofaggots were in no position to benefit from it since by 1914 they were killing each other. By 1918 China under teh Warlords was so horrible the white cunts just stayed in their concessions though Japan was happily supporting Northern Warlords to weaken the Republic.

Its wrong. USA was only interested in united China, Britain and France was also working for its breakup (separation of Vietnam, Honk-Kong and other Chinese regions).
Taiping rebellion was inspired and supported by USA, so Europeans were just beating their opponents.
1911 was nice for Europe: Russia seized Mongolia and Turkestan, Britain - Thibet, France - some southern lands. Yes, Chinks were so weak, that Europeans and Americans start to kill each other. But it was division of loot.
>>
>>2217144
Why did USA back the Taiping Rebellion if they wanted a united China?
>>
>>2217316
Its main goal was destroying of Europeans colonial forces, they were trying to force central government to join this activity.

When will this meme end?
>>
>>2216900
Chinese were mostly happy to let people further away from them to be tributaries.
>>
The idea of uniting the empire is too strong a meme in a Chinese culture, they'd unite at some point.
