Is Confucius still worth reading today? Will it teach me relevant things about philosophy or as it become obsolete? Can I at least get some historical knowledge out of these books?

Laozi is better
Jain and Hindu philosophy is definitely worth studying.
But it's useful to understand eastern philosophy regardless of its relevance, it will help you understand the historical context of what is going on today
Confucius is trash and the dogmatic obsession with Confucian exams held China back from modernization

Confucianism in practice
> Emperor sentences you to 10,000 lashes for not meeting tax quota
> Try to explain that the peasants are all starving, the officials are corrupt, and he has an obligation to correct this
> Your head flies off before you can say the second syllable and your relatives are all executed for your disloyalty to your elders
> Country decays further while incompetent Confucian scholars jack off about how great the Emperor is
> Massive peasant rebellion, Confucian scholars claim bad stuff happened because people were not Confucian enough

I think Confucianism is most prevalent in Japan and Korea where there is a strong observance of social hierarchy. Like how you always refer to people based on their hierarchical relation to you, i.e senpai, kouhai, etc. Meanwhile the Communists in China flushed Confucianism down the toilet, people is China have little regard for social standings as it gives an bourgeoise vibe.
