The Virgin Mary is a manifestation of Shakti, the Divine Feminine.

As Shakti she is a manifestation of the Other, or that which is not "I" and must be transcended. I don't think someone who has a true personal relationship with God is blind to what he has to overcome in himself and the world, he just doesn't personify it
