well boy, the thirty years war, or as we called it back in my day, the catholic genocide started when wicked protestants got jealous of the imperial catholic's power and threw some of them out of a window or something. then everybody starts attacking us like we're the bad guys! even other catholic countries attacked us... fucking frogs.
anyway nobody really "won" and almost eight million people died, good times.
