pretty much they couldnt cope with being defeated and decides to mass suicide the whole nation, but it didnt work that way

Orders to destroy all infrastructure were definitley completed outside of Germany, at the very least. Entire cities in the Ukrainian provinces(border lands) destroyed, rail infrastructure and factories made inoperable, it was devastating to the economy of the provinces.
