There have been two King Davids of Scotland already, which I think is what OP is getting at.
Yeah, it's a little confusing. I was gonna say he'd probably be David I since the United Kingdom is a new political entity but then I guess you've still got Elizabeth II and all the various Edwards and Georges.
So yeah, I think he'd be David III.

If i recall properly, it used to just be what ever it would be to England, but I think they changed the law relatively recently so for any new monarchs it takes the higher number of either England or Scotland, could be remembering wrong though

In Scotland he would be David III for the UK he'd be David I much like King James I if England but IV of Scotland
