Sad!
Botswana has done a great job of investing money from its diamond markets into national education endeavors, AIDS treatment, and medical assets.
>But what about Angola?
Will they collapse due to the work for education exchange with China? Are they investing wisely? Will they and Botswana transition into first world, or high end second?

What made Botswana different? Was it metal music?

They're the only country that didn't go muh black power and remove all whites from any jobs, meaning their economies, science, and education and other areas didn't suffer.
It's basically decolonisation done right, where as Mugabe and SA, with the BBBEE show that if you go full retard and kick the whites out you instantly fail.

It was the fact that half their population is robots, the other half swans.

Wasn't Rhodesia supposed to be rich according to /pol/fags?
>>2123722
It was. Then the Mugabe decided to not like whites which caused both brain drain and knowledgeable farmers to peace out. That, coupled with some bad crop seasons, did not help at all. Rhodesia was, for a sub-Saharan nation, pretty well off.

It's the classic socialist dictator playbook of "seize land/means of production, but instead give it to your cronies to ensure votes, who cares if they know how to farm/run the oil machinery properly because your Swiss bank account got fatter."

Botswana wasn't a colony like most places in Africa, it was a protectorate. Since the people there asked the British to come in the first place, relations between the black and white populations were always very cordial. The transition to self-rule was a gradual 40 year process instead of being an explosive chimpout like Zimbabwe where both sides conducted themselves very poorly.
Also the Khama family are really great guys. Some people are worried about them basically having a monopoly on the country's higher political echelons but they've been building the country up for nearly 200 years and have been doing a pretty superb job of it.

Look at the populations. It's tiny and rich, with a population of only 2 million.
