Whats the point of studying history if we live in the objectively best period of time?
There are no lessons to be gained from learning about the past of inferior men and their miserable lives

Whigs plz go.

>objectively best period of time
For the average man sure, but there were many great men who lived more luxurious and fulfilling lives than you: Gengis Khan, Cao Cao, Marcus Licinius Crassus etc...

There will always be things to learn from the past.
It's important to remember and study to know and learn from the mistakes of the people before us and to build upon their achievements.
Things will still get repeated in new ways of course, that's unfortunately inevitable.

>Whats the point of studying history if we live in the objectively best period of time?
>born too late to explore the world
>Born to early to explore the stars
>Born just in time to lose your jobs to a robot
nah.

So you learn how not to fuck up like they did.
But we won't, so have fun with your objectively best time, because it's not gonna last.
Also, 90s honestly seemed nicer, everything got worse in 2001. I'm still annoyed about that.
I don't know, if you prefer a quieter, slower paced lifestyle you would certainly think the past was better. The 1800s were pretty God tier.

I heartily agree with you.

>Middle class is still tiny and factory jobs were horrendously shitty
the Cold War was unironically the best because although there was the constant threat of nuclear war, it didn't happen and stuff made sense.

This, even being conscripted in the first half wasn't that bad, line warfare is so much less chaotic than 1850's onward
