recommending Joyeux Noel for the holiday season. it's about the christmas truces in WWI and draws from a lot of real accounts from soldiers about the truces and the general camaraderie that developed in some stretches of the battle lines during the war.
what are you watchan /his/?
The World at War is always great. Among the best ww2 documentaries there are.
Any good films about the Victorian era? I really liked Zulu.

Nothing better than Joyeux Noel. Silent Night is a similar one, but shite. It's about the same kind of thing, except in WW2.
There's also Jolutarina (Christmas Story) if you don't mind the /his/ to be VERY light, as it's about the origin of Santa.

25 days of Christmas movies (Joyeux Noel is saved for Christmas. Die Hard was tonight) and tv shows, with music for any interim.
