I lately heard of a theory that war acts as a "cultural fuel", especially the world wars /his/ do you have any info on that?
I guess it really fuels nationalism and forces people to set aside their differences in the face of a common enemy.

I'm not too sure about cultural fuel, but they are certainly good for the economy!
>>2097403
but that only works on "Just war"
shitty wars like Vietnam and WWI does the opposite
>>2097404
that's not really true
the losses incurred in war make it seem like their rebuilding is stimulating the economy but it was probably more efficient to allow what was destroyed to become obsolete first
wars often necessitate rationing and tariffs and taxes which all decrease economic efficiency

>throwing an anti-personnel grenade at a tank
why animus shouldn't fight wars

Vietnam was a pretty popular war until media started portraying American soldiers as butchers of little children. And it was considered a "just war" in that communism had to be stopped in Asia, at least that's what people thought back then.

I think it was the conscription thing really
Drag and clicking your volunteer army to irrelevant state #40834 doesn't really cause much of a response from the people, but when you start getting your populous involved you kinda need a reason.
Well it would make sense, artists often need stimulation and a great war stimulates society in a way nothing else does.
