Hello. I'm east asian.
Why is our history so pathetic and void of any worthy achievements after the 15th to 16th century? Was it stagnation with our civilization or something else? We practically produced no new innovations and practically remained the same until we modernized with European science and discovery in the 19th and 20th century.
Y'all just missed out on the Renaissance, the New World's resources, and the Industrial revolution. Once you got caught up to speed, you fared far better than the Muslim, Africans, or South Americans.

Colonialism/capitalism

We could have just gotten our shit together and invaded and conquered Southeast Asia turn them all into our slaves.
Ming Dynasty fell for the silver backed currency meme.

Stop.

>implying fiat currency is any better.
A few hundred years of relative decline is nothing out of the ordinary, Europe pulled ahead to an extent that left everyone in the dust and in the span of a century they fucked it all up, so take heart.

You missed out on the opportunity of invading poorfags and taking their shit
No classical philosophy, ergo no christian philosophy, ergo no reform, ergo no scientific revolution, ergo no enlightenment, ergo no liberalism, secular democracy, capitalism, socialism, industrial revolution, etc.
Europeans had luck of getting their shit together in the right time and place.

Japan did bretty good desu. They got their shit together at literal breakneck speed.
Korea couldn't do shit because they had a backwards social system with 80% of their population in some form of caste slavery with no upward mobility, and did whatever China wanted them to do, which, incidentally was fuckall.
China didn't even attempt modernization until after Japan had already started, and by then it was too late. Chinese govt was corrupt and super divided along lines of traditionalist Confucian style governance that ultimately held them back for a long time.

Don't worry anon, history repeats itself, Asians will be back on top in no time

Your history picks up as pretty rad again in the 20th century, desu.

Drop the pathetic act.

Don't feel so bad - that's way ahead of the game for about 90% of the world's historical population.
99 times in a 100, in those few places where civilization starts, it fails soon after. Yours didn't - it just didn't get to the top before someone else's did. A whole damn storm of literal miracles came together, repeatedly, to put Europe ahead of the game and set them on the course to drag the rest of the world along with them (a few of which they borrowed from you). They skipped a whole lotta crucial steps in the process to get that far ahead, and most of the suffering in the world is a result of that: the collective ambition being beyond the collective wisdom. If slow and steady really did win races, we might all be a lot better off, but alas...
If you were aboriginal stock or something, you might actually have something to wonder about or regret, but collectively, East Asia did far, far better than most branches of humanity, and, had they been given the time, may have even done better than the victors of history, that you're more or less now stuck with, ever would have. (Lest there is a collapse of western civilization and your own survives to learn from it.)
