How did WWI armies got around? Was it still by marching?
I mean, horses and carriages were the main transport but most of these were used for supplies, there were few trucks in existence for all those men, automobiles were still quite few, and trains cannot go anywhere outside their tracks.
So did they still do old timey marching in collumns and shiet?

Trains, boats, horses and walking.
Mostly walking but train lines for the war effort was vital.
