No it isn't. There's 0 correlation between AIPAC's efforts and things AIPAC cares about, such as U.S. involvement on Israel's side in the Middle-East.

I mean for fuck's sake, you'd think that if the Israeli lobby controlled things, they'd cut off all that aid to places like Egypt and Lebanon and Iraq.

It's old, and mostly focuses on cold war stuff, but you should read this book, as it goes through the actions and effects of the Israeli lobby in enormous detail.

There are a bunch of smaller nations that regularly lobby in the US. It's nothing weird, US is the world's most powerful projector of power and can get things done. Israel just happens to have shekels.
