What was life like in Yugoslavia under Joseph Tito? Was he really one of the few who could pull off a successful socialist nation?

Yugoslavia was heavily reliant on American loans to set up factories that produced nothing and only existed to employ people who sat around all day drinking rakia.
The reason the country went to shit after he died is
a) America had no faith in his successors, so cut off the loans, leading the economy to go to shit.
b) the rotating presidency meant that each of the constituent countries had 12 months to harm its enemies and enrich themselves before it went to another (instead of using their time in office to make the country better as a whole)

>so cut off the loans, leading the economy to go to shit.
that's wrong though
all kinds of loans and aid packages were being arranged by Eu/imf literally six months before bullets started flying

>factories that produced nothing
How and why? Source?

He was more of one of the few that can pull off a multi-ethnic nation that is not particularly dominated by a single ethnic group.

Rubish. Why get involved when you don't have clue

There was some inefficiency and wasted labor but he's vastly exaggerating, mostly because he doesn't know shit and relies on memes.

No one can pull off a sucessful socialist nation, him included
