Which era?

Literally any era
The original Romans came from tt'rei which was a small Kingdom in central Africa. This was mistaken as "Troy", and explains why Nero, and other Emperors were Black men, and explains the staggering number of Black man on White woman sexual relationships.

Songhai, Mali, Zulu, Ethiopia, Dahomey...
I like Africa because it's a nice balance between kingdoms and uncharted mystery
One left turn an you're out of the coastal city and rubbing elbows with warrior shepherds, next thing you know you're running from cannibals and killer bees in a jungle which seems almost like a genius loci

Does it have to be blacks? Some of the free boer states are really cool.
