What kind of martial arts did Roman Legionaries use? How would I train like one of them?
How to use a sword, shield, and spear. And drill.

Mostly drill I would imagine, supposedly they would practice with weighted swords and shields for stamina.
These were soldiers, not martial artists. And while plenty of them could hold their own, that kind of stuff was probably passed down informally and once lost can never be recaptured.
They did not really train in martial arts. They mostly trained weapons. Every soldier could do every duty since they trained in all of them. Even camp jobs were interchanged often to make sure no one was unreplacable.

to quibble with you, In the most literal definition, a martial art is an art by warriors and for war. making military drills one of the few true martial arts.
That said even the earliest martial arts were more spin offs of military arts rather than the true thing, they they still focused on the use of weapons, often in armor.
I believe, concerning unarmed fighting, Romans enjoyed boxing, or Pugilatus, but it wouldn't have been standard doctrine for the Legionaries. They were mostly trained to be disciplined and fight as a cohesive unit, relying on the strength of the men around them more then their own personal skill.

No, specialists were just that. Specialists. Hence them being immune to a lot of the shit camp duties.

Don't forget wrestling, which along with boxing were formally organized sports with numerous writings on the best tactics and such, that Roman boys regularly practiced at and continued with into adulthood.
This would have given the average Roman a distinct advantage in unarmed combat over some smelly barbarian wildly swinging haymakers all over the place.

This quote suggests that that earlier generations of Romans preferred military drill to unarmed martial arts/sports
