Is philosophy any different from religion?
Both cannot be demonstrably proven
Both come down to personal conviction
Both make claims of knowing the unknowable (nature of reality, meaning of life etc)

depends on the philosophy
logic and philosophy of science are quite useful
Ignorant nigger. Read up on babby introductory philo lit and come back after.

This. Nigga without some basis in philosophy, no one would even try "science." Look at the guys who discovered the scientific method, the idea of falsifiability, etc.
Is this "philosophy and religion a meme" a new dogmatic atheist/agnostic meme?

yes they are quite different. but philosophy has a lot of grounding in religion. The greeks thought numbers were gods, wu-wei is divinely inspired, middle-age theologists are cited as forerunners to philosophers, etc.

to be frank, most scientists dont give a fuck about philosophy and philosophy hasnt influenced science since they were together "natural philosophy" or whatever.

No, it's the same. Good observation. You should stop reading any books right now and start teaching at Oxford.
