Why is/ was history your major?
Has it been worth it personally? For your career? What's make and minors go well with a history major?

>Why is/ was history your major?
It wasn't, because I'm not a retard.

>Why is/ was history your major?
Because I was well aware that I wouldn't have been able to successfully major in something I wasn't interested in, so it was better than having no higher education at all.
>Has it been worth it personally?
Well, yes. It gave me a fun university life and it was better than being just a high school grad.
>For your career?
Well it didn't help from a CV point of view but it didn't hurt either. I wasn't dedicated enough to get a job in academia, but I do feel like my studies taught me some useful skills for my current career (journalism). It's frankly disturbing to see how far a grounding in history and being able to write coherent and well researched articles can bring you.
>What's make and minors go well with a history major?
I have no idea, my country's higher education system doesn't have minors and multiple majors.

I want to eventually get a PhD and teach history at a decent university. I really wouldn't know how well this has worked for me so far because I'm on my first semester of college and there were no history classes open. I've signed up for a history class for next semester, though.
