Because of the Western Hypocrisy and lack of the powerful Turkish Lobby. Both Jews and Armenians have strong lobby around the world, despite having a small population. Turks were not merchants. No merchant means no coverage in the world. The same shit goes for Belarussians and Ukrainians in WW2. They got genocided the shit out of their %33 of population, and nobody gives a shit.

doesn't mean the atrocities weren't bad or that Bulgaria isn't a perfectly good country to be from, but without some larger reason to care there are too many atrocities in world history to know every one. Not only has Bulgaria not had as much impact on the world as some nearby nations, but it's diaspora is relatively small/not as widespread

The Ottomans have never committed any atrocities though. Its always been the most powerful European nation since it took power away from the treacherous Greeks who could never keep anything under control.
