In 1941 Pearl Harbor is bombed and Hitler declares war on USA. Still, soon after, USA signs nonagression treaty with Japan. Small numbers of prisoners are returned, everybody is happy. Germany remains in state of war, but conflict between USA and Germany in this case is reduced to u-boat war.
How does the world look like in 1950?
Stupid question

Aside from would-never-happen-because-Japan-just-bombed-you-and-every-citizen-wants-revenge, it would make the war last longer, but with the same conclusion.
Also nearly all of Europe would fall in the USSR sphere of influence, so there's that.

The USSR would end up annexing Germany and Italy, possibly France but they may set up a puppet government instead. The UK and USSR would enter a pact where the UK would give the Red Army protection and transportation to the Japanese mainland, where they would occupy it and divide it into colonies between the two of them.
Communism would be an even larger challenge to democracy in this scenario, and the USSR would have many more resources to propagate communism across the world.
