Can someone give me some unbiased insight on what he did? I hear right wingers saying that he saved the Chilean economy but from left wingers I hear the opposite, what did he actually do?

he saved the country by killing the most retarderd president we've ever had
His regime was not spectacular.
He seized power on the pretext of purging commies, which he did, though Allende was finished by that point anyway. As the cold war came to a close he held a referendum and power was returned to civilian authorities peacefully to his credit.
Copper remained nationalized. The economic policies of the "chicago boys" helped Chile diversify the economy and made Chile more appealing to international finance, however they backtracked on these policies by later pegging the peso to the dollar resulting in a bubble and a financial crisis a few years later which interrupted otherwise decent growth from 1976 to 1988.

He revealed that monetarism is a meme.

Nothing wrong is what he did.

Killed Marxists into submission and stopped doing retarded socialist crap. It's not rocket science to save an economy from socialism. Just stop doing and kill the people trying to do it.

no, argentinians used cargo aircraft and it wasn´t a public display
> Allende is ignoring the constitution
> The military claims to remove commies because of that
> They ignore the existence of the constitution for 7 years. Then make a new one.
> Its a temporary junta! We will returm the power to the masses!
> stage a intern coup to remove other generals from power. All the base belongs to Pinochet for 17 years.
> Made reforms to make the poors more poors and the rich more rich
>But as the rest of the LA countries suck. We think Chile is doing great.
>"everybody loves Pinochet" sayed the media of the regime
> the oposition stays in power for 20 years because everyone associates the right to Pinochet
Chile is doing great compared to the other shitholes of the region. Economical reforms from Pinochet and Social reforms from the concertacion Made Chile great again.

You didn't do Keynesian economics enough justice with that image and overestimated Marxian economics.
Agree with you on Austrian/Chicago being garbage though.
