It is so deep and insightful because it was developed by mathematicians an scientists who were trying to develop a scientific philosophy about knowledge, language, and mind (which can be analyzed only by language). They where trying to stop any debate about "muh metaphysic and shit is better than yours because shit". They tried to abolish metaphysics from philosophy because they knew it can be ambiguous and easily misinterpreted. They knew that philosophy is a SCIENCE, and that it as to be treated with respect, and to do so they had to destroy every fancy and "cool" metaphysical theory, which has no empirical proof ad all.
I'm not saying that they were absolutely right, but I admire their beliefs.

Also: Russel, Ayer and other said that science is a complex of "probable" hypothesis, not an unfailing dogma. So, no ultimate truth.
