Ah, no, no it's not, at least in the Orthodox tradition. Monks are extremely sleep deprived, they have to stand for most of the night, and when they finally go to bed, they have to get up at midnight to pray, then go back to bed, then rise at four in the morning. They eat at most two meals a day, one early, one at four in the afternoon; more than half the days of the year, they only eat the latter meal. They can only sit to eat or write, otherwise they must be standing at all times. They can't ever talk unless demanded by absolute necessity, they do nothing all day except manual labor, writing, or prayer, and the prayer is always either standing, kneeling, or making prostrations (which in Christianity is closer to doing burpees than it is to Muslim prostrations, since it is an active standing up and getting down and standing up and getting down).
