Hey /his/ I've been thinking a lot about this question and I'm curious to what everyone thinks.
Is love nothing more than a biological feeling? Or is there something more to it that transcends this reality. Is there anything really "special" about love (emotions maybe in general) or is the idea of true love etc all a bunch of bullshit.
I would love (no pun intended) to believe that there is something /more/ to love than just biology, that it can't be created from matter. Am I just being self absorbed?
You can't transcend reality as anything that transcends it, cease ot be real.
What happens in the material world has spiritual significance.
Why it is always a love and not pain or feeling of a surprise, horror, disgust or just pure fucking madness? There are so many emotions to choose from, but it is always the one of the most boring ones.
>Am I just being self absorbed?
Yes, but that's normal.
The common conceit of most humans is that the material universe is not "enough" for them, so they invent things beyond it that artificially magnify individual importance.
To those who say there is nothing beyond the material world, what proof do you have?
I don't mean in the condescending way either, I'm genuinely curious. With something so complex, couldn't it exceed our mental comprehension? Isn't there a CHANCE that there's more to life?

If something so complex, that it exceed our mental comprehension, than you can't base your life around it and it wouldn't add anything more to your life as a result.

>To those who say there is nothing beyond the material world, what proof do you have?
The lack of any actual proof for anything beyond the material, and the human tendency to attribute then-unexplained phenomena to non-material forces we now know have perfectly mundane, non-spooky explanations.

>So do you believe that there's anything beyond the physical world?
I have no compelling reason to, so no.
