The entirety of Christianity rests on the laurels of that for a logical reason. The apostles weren't mad, and yet they banked everything on the prospect of a life after life, by preaching of His having returned. Let us suppose for a second, He had not. Then the twelve would have been mad if they had devoted the rest of their lives to preaching that He had returned. Except it wasn't only them that met Jesus, but other civilians too, and then the mystery of the empty tomb, which the breaking of a King's seal would have meant a death sentence.

So either Christ came back from death, proving all He said was true by fulfilling all the prophecy of the Son of Man. Or you have all these people suffering mass hysteria and provoking persecution for His sake. Opponents might decry "Well that's religious people for you!" but that shows a lack of hindsight and neglects to address the miracles that the Holy Ghost, following Christ's appearance, gave the apostles so they could preach of this to all nations of the old world.

It also ignores something rarely brought up. The apostles preached above all, hope. Something that resonates with people back then, today, and into the future; because it's a timeless message for positive thinking. They also beat down competing sects that didn't call people to compromise their wants, most notably Gnostics/postmodern New Age hippies (which the Book of Jude is all about believe it or not) who were using Christ as a stepstone for their hedonistic religion; all WITHOUT deluding the Gospel's message. Case in point proof that hope is a supernatural force that can unite people under a rational plateau, striving together to maintain homeostasis/stability, while glorification of the flesh will lead down the opposite path.

The resurrection of Christ is fool-proof. It's just a matter of how much time you invest to assess your finally decision.
